Zu Ming Ho. The dream of the artist
Richard Zu Ming Ho was born in China in 1949. As a teenager, he studied drawing and watercolor, painted still lifes, landscapes, and was interested in calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, and figurative painting in the “Western” style. Over the next ten years the communist regime tried to break the spirit of Ho, depriving him of his creativity in the forced – labor camp. But he continued to live the dream, visualizing paintings and memorizing images, hoping that one day he would be able to portray them on canvas or paper. Ho’s dream was realized in 1987, when he immigrated to the United States. He began to create a rich sense of elegance and paintings, known for their beauty and lyrical style.
